Lovers of rhythmic gymnastics are in luck in Valencia, because the city will host the Spanish Championship of this sport, which is expected to involve some 600 gymnasts from all over the country. The pavilion of ‘La Fonteta de Sant Lluis’ in Valencia will host, from 22nd to 25th of June, the Individual Championship of Rhythmic Gymnastics, both male and female, as well as the championship for autonomy in the female category. During these four days the individual national championships will be celebrated from children’s category to Honor, and women will attend the full Spanish team that comes from competing in the European Championship in Budapest in May.
During the presentation, sources of the City of Valencia have explained that «gymnastics is a complete sport and very important in the training of minors, almost 600 practice gymnastics through our municipal sports schools, just as important is the work of the clubs of our city in the municipal sports facilities as it is the case of Club Antares «. The meeting, besides being a great sporting event, has a strong economic impact for the city, as it will bring «a total of 600 gymnasts from all over Spain together with the technical bodies, judges and other members of the organization, as well as companions, which guarantees about 3,000 overnight stays during the weekend. «
The president of the Royal Spanish Gymnastics Federation, Jesús Carballo, stressed that «it is very important, and a pleasure, to return to Valencia because the Valencian Community has been a pioneer in rhythmic gymnastics. We have a perfect scenario like ‘La Fonteta de Sant Lluis‘, and I want the championship to be a success and enjoy the highest level of national gymnastics. » In addition, Carballo has announced , «the components of the Spanish team will come to the full, because despite the burden of competition are making, becoming individual champion of Spain is very important.»
For its part, the president of the Federation of Gymnastics of the Region of Valencia, Concepción Rico, commented that «these days you will be able to enjoy gymnastics, from the youngest, going through all categories to climb to those of honor» . The price of tickets will be 12.00 euros for a daily day, 10.00 for the day of Sunday and 35.00 for the subscription valid for every day.
